M-ODU

Former Porto Industrial Slaughterhouse — KKAA + OODA

M-ODU is a photographic essay on architectural transformation.

Documenting the rehabilitation of the former Porto Slaughterhouse by Kengo Kuma and Associates in collaboration with OODA, the project approaches architecture as an evolving system rather than a finished object. Existing matter is not erased but reinterpreted, giving rise to a condition shaped by both permanence and change.

Through the interplay of black and white and color, the book articulates structure and time, memory and presence, revealing an architecture in continuous transformation.

Part of the arch+ collection, M-ODU focuses on process, transformation, and the reinvention of the industrial ruin.
